Celtic beat Chelsea 4-1 in a pre-season friendly at Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana.

The Scottish champions scored first with Matt O'Riley's calm shot from Greg Taylor's pass. Then, O'Riley helped Kyogo Furuhashi score another goal before half-time.

Chelsea had more of the ball and more shots, but Celtic's new goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeichel, played very well and stopped them from scoring.

Celtic made it 3-0 in the 76th minute when Luis Palma took advantage of a mistake by Chelsea's Robert Sanchez and Benoit Badiashile to score. Palma also assisted Mikey Johnston three minutes later, making it 4-0 for Celtic.

Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku scored a penalty late in the game, but it was only a consolation goal.

This win means Celtic finished their US tour with another victory over a Premier League team, after recently beating Manchester City.

Chelsea, who drew 2-2 against Wrexham in their first match under new manager Enzo Maresca, will play Mexico's Club America next.
