After successfully signing Hugo Lloris and Olivier Giroud, Los Angeles FC now wants to bring Antoine Griezmann to their team, either this summer or in 2025, according to L'Equipe.
Griezmann has scored 190 goals and made 90 assists in 492 professional games. For France, he has played 135 matches and scored 44 goals.
The French player has a contract with Atletico Madrid until 2025, with an option for one more year, which might make it easier for him to leave.
The team in Los Angeles is not in a hurry to sign him because they know that waiting until the summer of 2025 could be cheaper. By then, he could be a free agent or have only one year left on his contract. His release clause is 10 million euros.
Griezmann's Love for the USA
Griezmann has said he is very interested in moving to the MLS because he loves the American lifestyle and sports culture, especially the NBA and NFL.
He has mentioned Miami and Los Angeles as possible places to play, with LAFC and Inter Miami as strong choices. Having his national teammates Lloris and Giroud at LAFC might make him want to join the Los Angeles team.
Moving to LAFC would be an important step in Griezmann’s career. He has said he wants to finish his European career at Atletico Madrid and then try playing in the MLS.
